In the Fall of 2023, I organized a concert for Prepared Piano at the John Cage Trust at Bard. I have not been able to find the full recording of this concert... but I found a recording of Vick(i/y) by Andy Akiho and a piece of mine titled Prayer for Sleep written for this program. Thank you Zizi Zhong and Cherry Wu for premiering my work! This concert was inspired by Prof. Sarah Hennies and her class about percussion as an experimental practice.

I started writing this piece during the summer of 2024 as part of a bigger collaboration of pieces all recorded at the Sō Percussion Summer Institute for a project run by Clara Warnaar (NA4NA Vol. 7). At the time, I was focusing on learning Venezuelan maraca playing and also had just started to use SuperCollider. So I decided to combine both and wrote this piece as an exploration for myself. Here's a nicer video I made of the pieces. (Score Here)

Around the Fall of 2024 I found myself doing a lot of maraca playing, I had never really played the instrument growing up but I had always wanted to learn how. I also thought that it would be fun to have people write music for me and to put a concert together, so we did. I commissioned 2 new pieces for Maracas, 'Meredith's Words' by Drew Frankenberg and 'An Exercise in Constraint' by Logan Settle Rishard. I also wrote a piece for myself. Here's the full concert.
